horrorfest: 8 films to die for
too shocking for the general public


      Halloween is over, but horror fans need not despair. Horrorfest is here! This weekend you can get a heathly dose of horror at two area movie theaters, as they show eight flicks. As of Wed., Nov. 15, the following showtimes were available from the theatre’s websites, but more times may have been added since then. It ‘s strongly suggested that you check with the theatre beforehand for confirmation. If you buy tickets for all eight of the flicks, show your ticket stubs at any of the participating theaters for a free, limited addition T-shirt.


THE ABANDONED
      A film producer who was adopted as a baby and sent to America, returns to her native Russia and the family farm. Once there, strange things begin to happen. (Tinseltown 20, Sat., Nov. 18, 1:00,11:00)


WICKED LITTLE THINGS
      Recently widowed Karen Tunny and her two daughters, Sarah and Emma, move to a remote mountain home which Karen has inherited from the family of her late husband. (Tinseltown 20 – Sun., Nov. 19, 1:00, 6:05)


THE GRAVEDANCERS
      A group of friends’ lives are invaded by a trio of hostile ghosts after they engage in a drunken bout of gravedancing during a wake for an old chum. (Tinseltown 20, Sat, Nov. 18, 3:30, 8:30)


DARK RIDE
      Ten years after he brutally murdered two girls, a killer escapes from a mental institution and returns to his turf, the theme park attraction called “Dark Ride”. (Tinseltown 20, Fri., Nov. 17, 6:05pm)


UNREST
      A med student collapses upon sensing a “presence” about a cadaver. Her fears are strengthened by a mysterious death. She must find out the truth behind before its angered spirit can wreak further vengeance. (AMC Regency 24 - Fri. & Sat., 7:00pm, Tinseltown 20, Friday, Nov. 17, 1:00pm, 11:00pm)


PENNY DREADFUL
      Young Penny goes on a retreat with her psychologist. The intention is to help her overcome her phobia of cars. But events find her in a nightmarish situation where her worst fears come true. (Tinseltown 20, Sat., Nov. 18, 6:05)

REINCARNATION (RINNE)
      From the director of “The Grudge” and “The Grudge 2” comes Reincarnation, a suspenseful psychological horror film that deals with the topic of reincarnation. (AMC Regency 24 - Fri. & Sat., 4:30pm, Tinseltown 20 - Fri., Nov. 17, 3:30, 8:30)


SNOOP DOGG’s HOOD OF HORROR
      Part comedy, part frightfest, with a whole lot of “Hell yeah” mixed in. (Tinseltown Sun., Nov. 19, 11:00, AMC Regency 24 - Sun. 9:30)
