Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Xbox 360/Xbox Live Arcade

Just in time for the upcoming feature film TMNT, Ubisoft and Konami have teamed up with Digital Eclipse to bring us the original 4-player arcade hit, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While many Xbox live subscribers may be too young to remember what made the arcade original so great, most of us remember spending many a token on this classic game. Featuring the same quarter munching gameplay (ok, not really “quarter-munching” anymore), Turtles supports up to 4 players at any given time. Simply pick up a controller and jump right in, the controls are simple to learn and fun to use. As one of the four Ninja Turtles, your goal is to save April O’Neil and Defeat the Shredder, adventuring through 7 levels of beat-‘em-up action. Players can jump into your game at any time over Xbox live, or in person, and this game also features Live Achievements and Leader boards.

Contra III: the Alien Wars - Nintendo Wii/ Nintendo Virtual Console (Originally a Super NES release)

Contra III is the well-received sequel to the NES hits, Contra and Super C. (or Super Contra). As descendents of the original Contra Heroes, Your goal is to rid the planet of the wicked alien race known as the Red Falcon once and for all. As far as action games are concerned, Contra III is one of the best remembered on the Super Nintendo, and for a good reason. The onscreen action was constant, and the enemies ranged from small to huge, filling the entire screen. For quick arcade style action, Contra III is one of the many reasons I love the Wii’s Virtual Console feature, and I put this game right up there with Gunstar Heroes as one of my favorite classic shooters.
